Super Street Fighter IV adds ten characters to the original character roster from Street Fighter IV, featuring eight characters from previous Street Fighter games, as well as two fighters who are brand new to the series.
Among the added characters are T. Hawk and Dee Jay, who were initially intended to be in the original Street Fighter IV but later dropped. Also, Adon from the original Street Fighter, and Cody and Guy from Final Fight will be available, all whom were last featured in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Additionally, Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto return from the Street Fighter III series. In Super Street Fighter IV, every character will be given two Ultra Combos (with the exception of Gen who will have four Ultras, two for each of his styles). However, only one Ultra will be available at any given time, since they will be selectable in a way similar to the Super Arts in Street Fighter III.
