Section 8 is a first-person shooter developed by TimeGate Studios and published by SouthPeak Interactive. In Section 8, characters wear powered armor suits which provide damage absorption and augmented mobility. Players can use "overdrive" to move horizontally at superhuman speeds, or activate vertical thrusters to achieve new heights.
Players will be able to "burn-in" by dropping onto the battlefield from orbital dropships hovering at 15,000 feet from the surface, thus eliminating fixed spawn points. "Burning-in" also creates the opportunity for the player to choose where they drop on the map, making the game unpredictable. This process is an interactive experience as players can be shot down upon entry by players and anti-aircraft turrets alike, though these situations can be avoided or mitigated by using the "air-brake" feature which allows the player to make mid-air adjustments.

Resistance 3 - Reviews

7.0
I have had mixed experiences with the Resistance series. Like a lot of people in the UK, I picked up the first entry as part of a bundle designed to push the PlayStation 3 while it struggled to gain traction. I had a lot of fun with the game; it was a decent first person shooter with a reasonable hook. Unfortunately, the second game was an infuriating trial, one that seemed to lean far too heavily on the Ratchet & Clank series’ gameplay design without any of the fun. With that experience under my belt, I entered into Resistance 3 hesitantly.

Tightly balanced action and a superb array of guns make Resistance 3 a blast.

7.7
While Resistance 3 clearly steps forward as a improvement to the series, it's still not quite a great game overall.

Insomniac does a terrific job of making you forget about Resistance 2 with a sad, beautiful journey through the apocalypse.

An intense shooter experience that proves hard to resist.

7.0
This generic-looking shooter may not turn the genre on its head, but it has enough dynamic objectives and satisfying combat to entertain.

6.9
A solid and fun multiplayer experience, marred only by a lackluster single-player campaign and competition.

7.5
Grab your gun, charge your shields, and prep your jetpacks.
