It’s called The Run. An illicit, high-stakes race across the country. The only way to get your life back is to be the first from San Francisco to New York. No speed limits. No rules. No allies. All you have are your driving skills and sheer determination as you battle hundreds of the world’s most notorious drivers on the country’s most dangerous roads. In Need for Speed The Run, you’ll weave through dense urban centers, rocket down icy mountain passes and navigate narrow canyons at breakneck speeds, all the while evading a relentless police force prepared – and willing – to use lethal force to take you down.

and 1 virtual rating

3.0
Need for Speed was one of those franchises that I thought EA had nailed down. Fast cars, cop chases, competitive racing – the three tenets of NFS. I thought they knew that! Somehow, some way, Black Box, the developers of this release, have completely forgotten tenet number three, and pumped out this bland time trial joke.

7.0
It comes to a halt too frequently, but when it's speeding along, Need for Speed: The Run makes cross-country racing a joy.

5.4
Black Box takes the Need for Speed series back to its roots for an occasionally thrilling race across the USA.

4.0
The Run starts with an incredible idea for a racing game, but everything surrounding this year's Need for Speed feels like a cross-country calamity.
