Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is probably quite an irritating proposition for a lot of people. While it might carry the name of a cult favourite franchise (albeit a pretty large cult), this new release abandons the fiction and lore of the series in favour of a more Modern sort of plane Warfare. Instead of a crazy manga influence, you now have gritty, wise-cracking soldiers in what feels like a 2011 remake of Top Gun filtered through an Engrish translator, blended with today’s most popular FPS cash-cows.
