Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Reviews

8.1
based on 7 top critics

6.0
The series has been refined too many times for a release to outright suck, but it may also have been around too long for any subsequent Call of Duty game to truly excite. Everything here is passable, save the worst of the multiplayer maps, and I guess that might be enough for some. Unfortunately then, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 shows the signs of its assumedly tumultuous development and the signs of a franchise going stale.

8.5
Modern Warfare 3 sticks to its competitive, cooperative, and single-player guns and reminds you why the series is one of the best in the business.

9.0
Another year...and an even better Call of Duty.

8.0
Modern Warfare 3 feels split between the great excitement of its time-tested multiplayer and the feeling that this whole style of game has just gotten old.

Activision manages the tricky feat of offering more of the same for the fans and some shiny new features for the non-fans.

Like a pair of Converse shoes, classic COD concepts get better with age.

6.2
Doom 2 exudes a pervasive sense of antiquity that's hard to overcome.

6.0
Doom II provided a crucial step in the evolution of the first-person shooter, but its outdated level design and gameplay mechanics don't entirely hold up today.

7.5
Reduce the denizens of hell to piles of bloody pixels.
