Beneath the taint of bubblegum pop, Band Hero delivers where it counts.

1UP 8.5

Though suspiciously similar to Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero still offers fun rhythm/party action.

GameSpot 8.0

Band Hero makes fake plastic rock easy to pick up, family friendly, and a whole lot of fun.

GiantBomb 6.0

It's Guitar Hero 5 with different graphics and a more diverse setlist. If you like these 65 songs, you should probably get Band Hero.

DJ Hero is a music video game developed by FreeStyleGames and published by Activision as a rhythm game similar to Guitar Hero. The game is based on turntablism and features more than 80 remixes of two different songs from a selection of over 100 different songs across numerous genres. To score points, the player must press buttons to activate accented beats, adjust their crossfade between the two songs, and "scratch" the turntable on the game's custom controller in time to marks that scroll on the screen to score points and perform well for the virtual crowd.

This new frontier in rhythm gaming is electrifyingly fun, but the cover charge is steep.

GiantBomb 8.0

DJ Hero's gameplay is challenging and exciting with a feel all its own, making it a welcome addition to the world of peripheral-based rhythm games.

1UP 6.9

DJ Hero attempts to make Turntablism mainstream, but a series of missteps prevent it from reaching its full potential.
