About GameSnob
GameSnob aggregates video game reviews and price information from the web's most trusted sources. Our mission is simple:
we want you to buy better games for less. By combining review scores with current price drop data, we can help you
find your next game to buy.
Here's how GameSnob can help you pick your next game to buy:
-
We sort game deals by something we refer to as the "Deal Factor". It's a score ranging from 0 to 10 that is based on
the game's average review score, the percentage of the price drop ("savings"), and the game's age. In a nutshell, the Deal Factor
reflects the "value" of a deal: deals with the largest savings on the best-reviewed and most recent games have the highest Deal Factors.
Since we're snobs, we give more weight to the review score than the savings or age (a bad game doesn't get better just because it's cheap or new,
and our goal is to help you find the most attractive deals, not just the cheapest or newest games).
For example, check out our list of
top video game deals -- the "Deal Factor" sort order ensures that you see the best deals first.
-
GameSnob allows you to filter games and deals to answer questions such as:
Use GameSnob's filter bar or the Browse by Genre page to find answers to questions like the ones above and
thousands of other combinations.
- GameSnob provides a daily snapshot of the most trusted gaming opinions on the web. We list the latest reviews
from a small set of top-notch review sites (currently we include GameSpot,
IGN,
1UP,
GamePro,
Game Informer,
GameSpy,
GiantBomb,
Splitkick,
Pocket Gamer,
AppSpy,
Slide To Play and
Gamezebo).
In addition, we keep track of the best deals and most recent price drops from the web's top gaming stores.
We currently track price drops and specials from
Amazon,
eBay,
Best Buy,
GameStop,
Steam and iTunes.
Prices are updated hourly: check back often to make sure you're not missing out on a great deal.
-
GameSnob goes far beyond review and price aggregation alone: we provide game overview pages that quickly
communicate the gist of a game. The information provided ranges from short game descriptions to
ESRB labels,
YouTube trailer and gameplay videos, as well as recommended games that
you can compare to the current game in side-by-side view. Say you can't
decide between Madden 11 and NCAA Football 11
for the Xbox 360. Take a look at all the facts, reviews, videos and deal info in side-by-side view to simplify your decision.
In short, GameSnob is the one-stop daily destination for the discerning gamer who's looking for no-fluff coverage of the best games and money-saving deals on the web.
